Counselling is a process of talking and working together through issues, emotions and behaviours to identify their causes and help individuals find better ways of coping. We develop with clients an interpersonal relationship upon which we will explore thoughts, feelings and attitudes towards their presenting issues. This usually requires an comprehensive assessment period, to inform a depth and focus on a specific issue, and results in clients developing new skills in emotion regulation, anxiety management, distress tolerance and self-awareness.

We assist clients to:

  • Manage stress and conflict at home and work
  • Deal with grief, loss and trauma
  • Overcome feelings of depression, anxiety and fear
  • Increase self-esteem and confidence
  • Enhance personal relationships
  • Deal with problems related to alcohol and drug use
  • Manage chronic pain related to somatization
  • Alleviate depression
  • Recover from eating disorders
  • Manage obsessions and compulsions
  • Deal with sexual concerns
  • Respond to anger or violence
  • Improve parenting
  • Conquer id-life concerns
  • Plan for career changes
  • Bounce back from work stress
