Children and adolescents are impacted by the events that unfold in their childhood, which sometimes include grief and loss, trauma, family separation and divorce, bullying, and developmental issues. If not treated early, these events can lead to anxiety and worry, behaviour problems, anger and sadness. Many adolescents can benefit from the opportunity to talk about their worries and experiences with a trusted adult, who is also able to communicate their needs to parents and family members.
At Looking Glass Psychology, sessions with adolescents are based on the principles of cognitive behaviour therapy and focus on identifying and challenging thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in relation to their worries.
